• Brevet 2026 - Export periodic and annual averages to LSU for 8th grade classes

Step 1: Verify the prerequisites for exporting to LSU

1. Configuring services by class

1.1 Positioning "with grades"

Go to the display Resources > Classes >  Services per class. Verify the LSU positioning of the 8th grade classes in the column LSU Pos. All classes must be configured "with grades".

1.2 Grading period

Go to the display Resources > Classes >  Services per class, verify the column titled Grading.  Grading must be done on a semester or trimester basis.

2. Assigning an exam to 8th grade students

Assign a Brevet series to 8th grade classes in the tab Results > Grade School/General Training Certificate (Brevet and CFG) > Entry of Grade School/General Training Certificate forms. The series is assigned by default to all students in the class; customize the series for certain students in the list of students if necessary.

3. Verify the MEF (ETM) of the classes

Go to the display Resources > Classes > List to verify it. All 8th grade classes must have a ETM (MEF) that complies with national nomenclature. This ETM determines the list of subjects to be exported to LSU.

4. Verification of SIECLE codes

Go to the display Resources > Subjects >  List. The SIECLE codes for the subjects in the grading services must be entered so that PRONOTE can identify the subjects that count toward the brevet and export them to LSU.

If the subjects do not have a SIECLE code, activate the command Imports/Exports > SIECLE > Recover the codifications then recover the file ExportXML_Nomenclature.zip.

5. Verify the grading services

5.1 All the grading services must include:

• an average,
• an appraisal,
• program elements.

5.2 The annotation "exempt" is only possible for the following subjects:

• Physical Education,
• FL2
• language and literature, in 8th grade International

5.3 Non-representative average:

You can allow teachers to indicate that a periodic average is not representative in one or more subjects. 

To activate the option, go to the menu Parameters > Evaluations > Grading, then tick Allow the teachers of 8th, 10th, and 11th Grades to indicate that a periodic average is not representative.

If the average is not representative, it is replaced by the value "Pending" in the export to LSU. The annual average transmitted to LSU must be entered in the Brevet form from Results > Brevet and CFG >  Entry of Grade School/General Training Certificate (Brevet and CFG) forms per student.

5.4 One subject = one service

• If subjects are evaluated as sub-services, you must transform these sub-services into services. If, for example, Moral and Civic Education is a sub-service within History and Geography, you must transform it into a service.
  
  
• If a subject is taken as a NLD (DNL) For the 8th grade International classes, you must create a Non-linguistic discipline (NLD) service that is separate from the subject grading service. If it has been created as a sub-service, you must transform it into a service.
  
  
  For the service to be labeled as a Non-linguistic discipline (NLD) service, you must indicate this in Resources > Classes > Services per class. In the column EM for the concerned service, double-click and then select as election modality D-NLD.
  
  
  
  
  

• If a second foreign language (FL2) is present in the student's options, a FL2 grading service must be created for this student's language class or group.

• If the student is taking supplementary studies, you must create a grading service. The SIECLE code for the subject of the service must be that of the supplementary study.

6. Classes or services without grades

If classes are evaluated partially or entirely by competencies, the services can be kept "without grades," but teachers must assign a "LSU grade" that will serve as a periodic average, either by automatic conversion or manual entry.

Go to the display Report card > Entry of the appraisals > Entry of teachers' appraisals per subject, then choose a class and service. Click on the symbol at the top of column Gr. LSU, to generate a score out of 20.

7. Mandatory reporting of annual averages 

The annual average is calculated automatically as the average of the periodic averages.
For classes evaluated by competencies, the annual average is the average of the "LSU grades."

Manual entry of the average in the event of a non-representative average

If a periodic average has been declared as non-representative (NR) in one or more subjects, the annual average cannot be calculated automatically. The teacher must then enter it manually in the Brevet file so that the student can be exported to LSU
