Determine class grading periods
Verify the dates of the official periods
- Go to the menu Parameters > INSTITUTION > Grading periods.
- If necessary, change the dates of the official periods by double-clicking in the columns From... and To...; these dates determine the publication dates for report cards (gradebooks, periodic assessments, etc.) set by default in the software.
Indicate whether classes are to be assessed by trimester, semester or a continuous year.
- Go to the display Resources > Classes > List.
- In the list on the left, select the classes concerned by the same type of notation, right-click, then select the option Modify the selection > Grading.
- Select the type of period to apply, then click on Validate.
Specify the sealing dates for grades, proficiency levels and appraisals
- Go to the display Resources > Classes >
Sealing of the periods.
- Click on the button
at the top of the column Grades.
- In the pop-up window, select immediate sealing, or deferred if you plan to seal in advance.
Determine the type of class grading (with or without grades)
Determine the type of grading to be taken into account in LSU (middle school only)
- Go to the display Resources > Classes >
Services per class.
- Select the concerned classes, right-click, then select Modify the selection > Positionings > With grades/On a scale of 1 to 4.
Determine the type of grading by service
Within the same class, some services can be evaluated with grades, others with competence evaluations, and still others with both systems combined. Make this configuration when reviewing the grading services (column Mode - see below).
Review the grading services
Services are essential for entering grades and proficiency levels. They determine the organization of report cards: it's essential to check them before teachers start evaluating their students.
If teachers start entering grades and proficiency levels when the services are not correctly configured (i.e. do not conform to the intended layout of the report card), you will need to correct them and then transfer the concerned tests.
- Go to the display Resources > Classes >
Services per class.
- In the dropdown men, select All the services then tick the box Display the inactive services.
- For each teacher, verify that all the necessary services are active: they must appear in the list and be preceded by a green dot (if some services are grayed out, double-click on the dot to activate them).
- Verify that unnecessary services are deactivated (if necessary, deactivate the service by double-clicking on the green dot).
- Modify the assigned evaluation mode if required: double-click in the column Mode to switch from With grades to Without grades, and vice versa.
In mode With grades, the teachers can enter grades and competence evaluations; in mode Without grades, they can only enter the evaluations. - Verify that the division of services corresponds to the information to be included on future report cards (bearing in mind that each active service results in a line on the report card, and that sub-services can be displayed or hidden as desired for each subject); if necessary, modify the services.

Reviewing the competence reference frames
By default, teachers are authorized to modify the competence reference frames by domain, by subject and the digital competence reference frames. If you wish, you can also modify these reference frames.
To manage authorizations linked to the teachers' competence reference frames, go to display Resources > Teaches > Authorization profiles, rubric Competencies.
