Pre-incoming year: how to activate a second base in Network version?
Step No. 1: Put a second server into service
- In the application Server EDT, go to the menu File > Add a server.
- Confirm the addition of a second server: EDT adds a panel that allows you to manage this server independently of the other one; click on this second server and then enter the information requested on the screen.
- If you'd like, you can rename the two servers to distinguish them clearly: right-click the server icon, select Modify the designations, and then enter the designation of your choice.
- Go to Publication parameters: since both servers are installed on the same machine, they have the same IP address. The TCP port, however, must be different—change it manually if necessary (for example, enter 49501 instead of 49500).
- On the Client, click on Add the address of a new server, then enter the IP address and TCP port, and add a new designation.
Step No. 2: Create a new base
- In the Server EDT application, select the second server.
- Go to the File > New base; configure the time grid, then click on Validate.
- Enter the name of the new base and save it on your workstation.
- Click the button Activate.
- Connect to the copy of the base using the button created in Step 1.
- Go to the menu Imports/Exports > STSWEB > Recover the data.
- In the pop-up window, select the data you want to import, then click on Validate.
- A window will appear to notify you that you are switching to Exclusive Usage mode; click on Yes.
- After importing, click the button Quit to exit Exclusive Usage mode.
