How do you put a course on hold for the duration of a manipulation?

To put a course on hold, tick the box Pending at the top right of the grid, select the course, right-click and then click on the command Put on hold: the course appears in the column Pending located on the right-hand side of the grid. You can place it back on the grid at any time by clicking and dragging it.
