Manage remote site constraints
If rooms are located on distant teaching sites, you can ask the software to predict the travel time between two sites, limit the number of trips from one site to another in the same day, etc. You define the room location from the room list or, if you plan to allocate rooms to courses after placement, the course location from the course list.
- Go to the menu Parameters > Institution > Sites.
- At the top of the window, tick Activate.

In the list on the left, enter the name of a site and confirm with the key Enter of your keyboard. Enter each of your sites in this manner.

You can possibly allocate a color to each site: it can be useful to display courses in the site's color on certain timetables. - In the table of inter-site travel, double-click in the column Duration to impose a delay between two courses on different sites: if you use automatic placement, EDT will not place courses immediately after each other on sites that are too far apart.
If the time to be taken into account between two courses is minimal (10 min of inter-course for example), leave the 0h00 value as it is and manage site changes using only the following steps (see below). - Indicate when these site changes can take place.
- Indicate how many site changes you authorize per day for teachers and classes, and at what time of day; if you set site changes to breaks in the previous step, indicate when those breaks are scheduled and at what time of day.
Note
Optionally, set a maximum number of site changes per teacher that is different from the default value in this window. - Indicate the site for the rooms (or courses).
