Manage remote site constraints
If rooms are located on distant teaching sites, you can ask the software to predict the travel time between two sites, limit the number of trips from one site to another in the same day, etc. You define the room location from the room list or, if you plan to allocate rooms to courses after placement, the course location from the course list.
- Go to the menu Parameters > Institution > Sites.
- At the top of the window, tick Activate.

In the list on the left, enter the name of a site and confirm with the key Enter. Enter each of your sites in this manner.
- Allocate a color to each site: it can be useful to display courses in the site's color on certain timetables.
- In the table of inter-site travel, customize every journey:
- double-click in the column Duration to impose a delay between two courses on different sites: if you use automatic placement, EDT will not place courses immediately after each other on sites that are too far apart.
- then double-click in the column Allows the change to customize the changes allowed for each route.
- Indicate how many site changes you authorize per day for teachers and classes, and at what time of day.
You will need to remember to indicate the site location of rooms or courses at a later date, so that these constraints can be taken into account.
