What's the point of defining a teacher's preferred subject?

If a teacher's preferential subject is entered, it is assigned by default to courses created from the teacher's timetable, as well as to his/her class meetings when specifying complex courses. The preferential subject can also be chosen automatically for the creation of parent/teacher meetings when a teacher teaches several subjects to the same class.
