Manage the automatic safeguard and archiving (EDT Network)
The automatic safeguards and archives are saved in the same folder as the base they come from. By default, a safeguard is performed every hour, and an archive is generated once a day and retained for up to 15 days. If you wish, you can change this configuration.
Modify the configuration of the automatic safeguard
- Go to the menu Parameters > Options > Safeguard and archiving.
- In the frame Automatic safeguard, click on the drop-down menu to modify the time interval between safeguards (1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours).
- If you want to specify a different save folder than the one selected by default, click the button
, then designate the file using the file browser.
Note
If possible, use a different computer than the one where the base is stored. Daily safeguards overwrite the previous day's safeguards.
Modify the automatic archiving configuration
- Go to the menu Parameters > Options > Safeguard and archiving.
- In the frame Archiving of the base, define the time at which the archiving should take place.
- To modify the maximum number of archives stored in the folder, enter a numeric value in the field provided (this value cannot exceed 100).
- Tick Photos and/or Sent mail if you want to include this data in the archive.
- If you want to specify a different save folder than the one selected by default, click on the button
, then designate the file using the file browser.
Open a safeguard
- Go to the menu Parameters > Options > Safeguard and archiving.
- Click on the button View the safeguards and archives.
- In the pop-up window, select a safeguard and click on the button Consult.
- You can then choose to:
- return to base in service via the command File > Quit the safeguard consultation;
- replace the base in service with the safeguard accessed via the command File > Activate the consulted safeguard. EDT will then prompt you to rename the database (if you do not do so, it will overwrite the current base). All users will be logged out and then automatically logged back in to the new database.
Replace the currently active database directly with a safeguard
- Go to the menu Parameters > Options > Safeguard and archiving.
- Click on the button View the safeguards and archives.
- In the pop-up window, select a safeguard right click and choose Activate.
- EDT will then prompt you to rename the database (if you do not do so, it will overwrite the current base). All users will be logged out and then automatically logged back in to the new database.
