Take into account differentiated pathways in the timetable
At the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, the introduction of differentiated courses in the 11th grade vocational high school class means that timetables will have to be reshuffled in the last few weeks of the school year. To avoid disrupting existing timetables, please follow the procedure below.
Step 1: Create a family column "differentiated path"
Create a family column "differentiated path" allows you to easily identify students from one or other pathway, especially when rescheduling timetables.
- Go to the menu Parameters > GENERAL > Families.
- Click on New family, enter a designation (for example, "differentiated pathways") then press the key [Enter] on your keyboard.
- In the pop-up window, select Predefined rubrics then press the key [Enter] on your keyboard.
- In the pop-up window, tick Students (and any other concerned resources), then click on Validate.
- Click on New rubric to add the two types of paths offered (TPPE (PFMP) or preparatory training for further study).
- Go to the display Timetable > Students >
List, display the family column Differentiated pathways, then assign each student the pathway they've chosen.
Step 2: Modify the existing periods
- Go to the menu Parameters > INSITUTION > Periods.
- Materialize the six weeks of differentiated pathways on the period slider by re-arranging the last period of the year - if your institution uses several period breakdowns, make these changes for each of them (except for the weekly breakdown, which is already arranged).
You can carry out this operation directly on the base of the current year without disrupting existing timetables. However, bear in mind that this applies to the entire institution's timetable (and not just to the 11th grade vocational classes): if you subsequently need to modify the annual timetables of other classes, be sure to select all the periods concerned using the period slider.
Step 3: Modify the timetables on a copy of the base
- Go to the menu File > Create a copy of the base then save a copy on your workstation.
- Open the copy in EDT Single-User.
- Modify the timetables; using the family column created in step 1, you can easily create groups of students who will remain at the institution, in particular via the command Create a group with the selected students.
To accurately identify the slots available during the differentiated pathway period, specify the period of the concerned courses, either when creating a new course (Edit > New course, Periods of the course) or on the existing courses (right click > Modify > Periods if possible).
If you want to launch an automatic placement without modifying the timetables of other classes, don't forget to lock the latter's courses.
Step 4: Import the modified timetables
- In the current year's base, go to the menu Imports/Exports > EDT > Import the classes' timetables.
- Designate the modified copy of the base from the previous step.
- In the pop-up window, tab Choice of resources only tick the 11th grade vocational classes.
- In the tab Choice of periods, only tick the period (or the periods) corresponding to the differentiated pathways.
- In the tab Options, leave all default options ticked, then click on Import.
- A window Detailed report of timetable import appears; click on Validate import, then on Yes.
Step 5: Create an internship session for students in the vocational integration process
- Log on to PRONOTE, then go to the display Internships > Internship sessions >
List.
- Click on Create a session, enter a designation, then press the key [Enter] on your keyboard.
- Enter the internship weeks in the pop-up window, then click on Validate.
- Click on Add a class or group, designate the group "TPPE (PFMP)", then click on Validate.
- Double-click in the column EDT to indicate the group's absence during this period.
Also, in PRONOTE, don't forget to adjust the end date of grading/evaluation for the concerned classes (display Resources > Classes > Sealing of the periods).
