  • Create standard alignments

This option is suitable if you have a sufficient number of French/Math teachers. You can then create complex courses with all the classes in the level.

If you don't have enough teachers of a particular subject available in the same time slot, and you'd like to let EDT suggest how students should be distributed in groups, you can automatically generate groups for mixed alignments.

Step 1: create complex courses

  1. Go to the display Timetable > Course > List.
  2. Launch the command Edit > New course or the shortcut Ctrl + N.
  3. Specify the subject, add the teachers and all the classes in the level.
  4. Click on Create

Step 2: specify the courses

Specification of the courses automatically generates class parts and groups.
  1. Select the course created in the previous step.
  2. Open the course specification window with a right-click, then Specify or the shortcut Ctrl + R.

  3. If the teachers' preferred subject has not yet been defined, please specify it.

  4. By default, groups can be made up of students from all classes in the level.
  5. If the composition of the groups is to be modified week by week by the teachers, choose the option "Group with a variable population". If the composition of groups will only be modified a few times a year, this is not necessary, as you can make changes by drag-and-drop.

  6. Choose One class meeting per teacher as the distribution mode.

  7. The class meetings, groups and class parts created are displayed.

  8. Close the window. You can view the groups in the display Timetable > Group > List.

Once the standard alignment has been created, you can duplicate it using the command Edit > Duplicate the selection or the shortcut Ctrl + D to quickly create all weekly courses for this subject.
