Force the users to change their password (EDT Network)
Option No. 1: Generate new passwords every year
A simple way of making it compulsory to change passwords every year is not to recover them from year to year.
EDT generates new temporary passwords every year. You communicate this temporary password to each user, who personalizes it when he/she logs in for the first time.
Option No. 2: Force password change every X month(s)
You can also force passwords to be changed every X month(s). This option allows optimal security. By default, the expiration time is 12 months.
- Go to the menu Parameters > Options > Security.
- Select a Type of user.
- In the frame Password, select Force change at expiration.
- Enter the Maximum lifetime of the passwords; after this period, users must change their password.
Option No. 3: Force password change on next login
This last option allows you to force a password change by selecting the users concerned. This can be useful if you have modified the personalization rules and want all passwords to comply with the new rules without delay. It's also essential if you suspect identity theft.
For administrative users
- Go to the menu File > User administration.
-
In the pop-up window, click on
