  • I have too many discussions in my inbox: how can I clean it up?

To clean up your messaging service, categorize your discussions (if you haven't already done so) and archive the ones you want to keep. You can also move to trash/permanently delete unnecessary discussions, or purge them if you wish to delete their oldest messages, but keep the most recent.

Categorize a discussion

  1. Go to the display Communication > Discussions > Discussions.
  2. Select one or more discussions, right-click and choose Classify: in the pop-up window, tick the wanted categories.

You can customize existing categories (color, name and abbreviation) and create new ones.
  3. Click on the button Validate: in the list of discussions, find the assigned categories appearing in the corresponding column. You can also display the discussions of a single category, by selecting its folder in the panel on the left of the screen.

Archive a discussion

  1. Go to the display Communication > Discussions > Discussions.
  2. Right-click on the discussion and choose Archive: the archived discussion is stored in the folder Archives, in the panel on the left of the screen.

Put a discussion in the trash

  1. Go to the display Communication > Discussions > Discussions.
  2. Right-click on the discussion and choose Move to trash: the discussion is stored in the folder Trash, in the panel on the left of the screen.

By default, trashed discussions are automatically deleted after 45 days. This period can be modified in the menu Parameters > Communication > Mail/SMS/Messaging service. To speed up the deletion process, select a discussion in the trash, right-click and choose Permanently delete.

Purge a discussion

  1. Go to the display Communication > Discussions > Discussions.
  2. Select the discussion to be purged, right-click and choose Purge the discussion's old messages.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the number of messages you want to retain, then click on Yes.

The command Purge the messages is only activated when at least one discussion has too many messages.
