  • Send a SMS

For important messages (absences, strikes, unexpected events, reminders, etc.), we recommend sending SMS. This service must be activated in the software by a superadministrator in order to be used and may incur additional costs.

1. Activate the SMS service

  1. Go to the menu Parameters > Communication > Mail/SMS/ Messaging service.
  2. In the frame SMS, tick Activate the service.



  3. A button Test the sending of SMS allows you to verify that the service is operational.

2. Authorize certain staff members/teachers to use this service

Authorize the administrative users

  1. Go to the menu File > User administration.
  2. In the pop-up window, click on the display User groups.
  3. In the menu on the left, select the concerned user group, then select the category Communication.
  4. Tick Communicate with the students/guardians/teachers/staffs > Sending of SMS.



Authorize the teachers

  1. Go to the display Timetable > Teachers > Teachers' authorization profile.
  2. In the list on the left, select the corresponding profile.
  3. In the category Communication, tick Send the SMS to the students' guardians.

3. Send the SMS

  1. Go to a display showing a list of resources, then select the recipients.
  2. Click on the button Envoyer un SMS in the toolbar: a window Editing and sending of SMS appears.
  3. Select an SMS template from the list on the left (the available SMS templates depend on the display) and edit it as needed in the panel on the right. If necessary, create a new template by clicking on the corresponding line. To insert variables, click on the button Insert.



    Note
    In the dispatch window, the software will notify you of the number of SMS messages that will not be sent. Verify beforehand that all cellphone numbers have been entered correctly and/or that the recipients accept SMS messages in their contact preferences.
  4. Click on Send, or on Save and send if you want to keep the changes made to the SMS template.

Note
The number displayed on the recipient's phone cannot be modified and depends on the operator. If you want users to be able to call back, insert the number in the body of the SMS.
