  • Communicate with teachers and staff using the most appropriate means

 
In PRONOTE, you have access to three secure communication tools, each with its own specific features, so you can communicate with the institution's teachers and staff, be informed, be questioned, and so on.

  • Discussion: exchange of messages between at least two participants via PRONOTE's internal messaging service. This allows you to talk to a few specific people, bearing in mind that each participant can reply to all or some of the other participants.
  • Information: receipt of a message from staff or teachers without the option of replying, but with the option of sending back an acknowledgement of receipt. For example, the Principal uses the information to give you instructions at the start of the year, information about a class outing, and so on.
  • Survey: questionnaire received to which you reply to communicate information to the sender either by name or anonymously.


The discussion



Initiate a discussion

  1. In the tab Communication > Discussions, click on the button New discussion.
  2. In the pop-up window, select the teachers or staff you wish to exchange with, then click on Start a discussion.
  3. Enter a Subject, then the content of your message and click on Send.

Answer a message

  1. Select the message from the list on the left. The message feed appears on the right.
  2. Enter your answer in the frame Write your message, then click on Send to all.
  3. If the discussion concerns several people and you wish to reply to only one of them, click on the button Deploy the actions to the right of the concerned message and choose Answer.
If the discussion is taking place with just one interlocutor, his or her name appears in the column Participants. On the other side, the icon Participants is displayed. Position your cursor over this symbol: a tooltip lists the people involved in the discussion.

Display the discussion in a separate window

  1. Select the discussion, right-click and choose Isolate in a window.
  2. You can then keep the discussion on-screen while changing the display.

Delete a discussion

Right-click on the discussion and choose Move to trash.

CAUTION: depending on the option chosen by the institution, discussions are automatically deleted within 30 to 100 days. Don't hesitate to ask your PRONOTE supervisor to find out about the actual deadline.
 You can start a discussion from any display by clicking on the button Communication at the top right.

Information or survey

Consult an information or a survey

  1. In the tab Communication > Information and surveys, select the information or survey sent by teachers or staff. Click on it to show or hide the details.

    • If it's information, read the message, then tick I have taken note of this information.
    • If it's a survey, answer the questions, then click on Validate.
  2. The notification is then no longer active. To hide the information or survey, click on the three vertical dots to the right of the message and choose Marked as read (you can always recover the element by un-ticking the unread at the top of the page).
When a message is sent to you (or you receive information or a survey), a notification is displayed in the tab Communication. As long as you have not consulted the received elements, this notification remains active.
