  • What about my child's personal data in PRONOTE?

What data is stored?

The data stored in the institution's database comes from the Ministry of Education (or its affiliated ministry) and from manual entries made throughout the year by the institution's teaching and administrative staff. Depending on the institution, data may also come from third-party organizations such as those managing school catering, the library, etc.

Who is responsible for the data?

The Principal of the institution is responsible for this data. He or she must keep a register of the types of data stored and their use.

Where is the data?

The institution's database is located on a server chosen by the institution. This can be located at the institution or hosted in a data center, such as the one offered by Index Education in France, which guarantees optimum security conditions.

Who can access the data?

It is the Principal of the institution who defines precisely who can access which data. In general, the institution's staff, the student's teachers, his/her guardians and, where applicable, his/her internship counselors, have access to data concerning the student.
The Principal can also export data stored in PRONOTE:

  • to the LSU, the single school transcript introduced by the French Ministry of Education,
  • to school catering services, financial management, etc.
  • to a digital workspace and its trusted services (digital resources).
