In non-hosted mode, you install all the applications needed for PRONOTE to run smoothly, and must guarantee conditions that comply with the General Data Protection Regulation

Step 1: Download the software
Download the following applications from the download page on the Index Education website:
- the Client PRONOTE, which allows you to consult and modify data. It must be installed on each user workstation.
- the Server PRONOT, which makes the database accessible from the Clients. It must be installed on a sufficiently powerful, recent machine, preferably on a dedicated partition, different from the system partition, in a non-shared folder;
- the Server PRONOTE.net, which makes data accessible from online Webspaces. Whenever possible, install it on a dedicated machine, preferably on a dedicated partition different from the system partition. If you need to install it on the same machine as the PRONOTE Server, you must make 3 partitions (one for the system, one for the Server PRONOTE and one for the Server PRONOTE.net).
During the year, the update is automatically proposed when the Client connects to a Server with a more recent version. If automatic update has been deactivated, you can reactivate it via the menu Configuration > Update. Verify that the current version of your software is the most recent by clicking on Search for updates now. To modify the Server's automatic update time, go to the Server PRONOTE application, verify that the option Silent update at a set time is ticked and enter the desired time. Step 2: Connect the Client PRONOTE to the Server PRONOTE
- Open Server PRONOTE, then click on the tab Publication parameters: a window Creation of a superadministrator opens.
- Fill in your identity, choose a username and password (and keep them in mind, as these are the login details you'll use to administer the base on a daily basis).
- In the panel Publication parameters, take note of the IP address and TCP port.
- Transfer this information to the Client after clicking on the button Add the address of a new server.
Step 3: Connect the Server PRONOTE.net to the Server PRONOTE
- Open Server PRONOTE, tab Publication parameters, and take note of the IP address and TCP port.
- Transfer this information to the Server PRONOTE.net, tab Choice of server.
Step 4: Register your license
You need to register your license to continue working after the 8-week evaluation period. From the Server or from a Client connected as supervisor (SPR or superadministrator), go to the menu File > Utilities > Automatically register your license. Caution, you must update your license as soon as you make a change to your contract.

- The license has already been registered on the workstation: in the pop-up window, confirm your institution. The software automatically recovers the necessary data, and registration takes just a few seconds.
- This is the first registration entry: enter the client reference and invoice number shown on your invoice.
If you encounter any problems with automatic registration (network, connection, firewall, etc.), click on the button Generate the PDF with my details and send it to code@index-education.fr or by fax to +33 4 96 15 00 06. You will then receive the code by e-mail: copy it using the shortcut Ctrl + C, launch the command File > Utilities > Enter your registration code, click on Entry of the code, then paste it using the shortcut Ctrl + V and validate.
