Install the Client
If you have opted for the hosting package, the only software you need to install on your computer is the Client PRONOTE. The Client PRONOTE allows you to manage the database saved on your institution's server (a dedicated server, physically present on Index Education's premises). It is the Client PRONOTE that you use on a daily basis to manage the homework notebooks, grades, absences, etc.
Step 1: Download and install the Client
- Go to the download page for the Client PRONOTE.
- Click on the button Download (Télécharger) of Client PRONOTE.
- Double-click on the downloaded .exe file and follow the instructions of the assistant.
Step 2: Connect the Client to the Server
- Once the installation is finished, double-click on the shortcut Client PRONOTE visible on your desktop.
- On the software's home page click on the button Add the address of a new server.
- Enter your server's IP address and TCP port:
- IP address: RNE.index-education.net (for example 0131234A.index-education.net)
- TCP port: 49300
- Server designation: name the database (for example, Marie Curie High School).
- Click on Validate.
- Click on the connector that corresponds to your base that appeared on the home page in the previous step.
- In the pop-up window, select your connection mode (Administrative Mode, Teacher Mode or Student Administration Mode), then fill in your username and password before clicking on the button Connect.
If you want to change your password during the year, there's no need to connect to the console; you can make the change directly in the Client PRONOTE.
