Why can voter dual authentication incur additional costs?
If you wish, you can strengthen access to the election platform through dual authentication.
If dual authentication is activated, voters will need to enter a secret code on the platform to access it.
This secret code can be sent either by e-mail or SMS - all users have the choice between these two methods, you cannot impose one on them.
Secret codes sent by e-mail do not incur any additional costs. Those sent by SMS, on the other hand, generate a cost of 0.07 euros excluding tax per unit (in metropolitan France) - to find out more, consult this page.
In principle, only one SMS is necessary per voter - however note that a second SMS can be sent back at the request of the latter, in case of non-receipt during the first sending.
Dual authentication is mandatory for members of the polling station. The SMS sent to them are included in the license: no SMS will be charged as such.
