  • Determine the evaluation mode for the students (with or without grades)

At the start of the new academic year, you need to determine how students will be evaluated (with or without grades). This configuration is carried out both at class level and by service for middle school classes (and primary school classes, where applicable). For high school, it is only done by service (the evaluation of students with grades cannot be deactivated).

Determine how the class will be evaluated (middle school only)

  1. Go to the display Resources > Classes > Services per class.
  2. Select the classes whose evaluation mode you wish to change, right-click and select Modify the selection > Positioning > With grades/On a scale of 1 to 4.

You can allow or prohibit grades to be entered on a service-by-service basis (see below "Specifying the evaluation mode by service"): if necessary, PRONOTE will then propose the calculation of equivalences (calculation of a grade for a service evaluated solely by competencies in a class with grades/calculation of a positioning level for a service evaluated by grades in a class without grades).

Specifying the evaluation mode by service

  1. Go to the display Resources > Classes > Services per class.
  1. Select the class in the list on the left.
  2. In the list on the right, double-click in the column Mode to switch from With grades to Without grades, and vice-versa: using the With grades mode; the teachers can create tests (graded), evaluations (competencies) and enter appraisals; using the Without grades, mode, they can only create evaluations and enter appraisals.

If grades have already been entered by the teacher, the box appears shaded in the column Mode, and you can no longer modify this parameter until the grades have been deleted.
