Pedagogical forums encourage exchanges between students on topics defined by a teacher. The teacher creates a forum by adding the students concerned by the topic, then moderates the exchanges between students. The teacher moderator can also write messages to guide students in their research. Once the forum is closed, students keep a record of their exchanges, which they can continue to consult.

Manage the pedagogical forums

Authorize the teachers to create pedagogical forums

  1. Go to the display Resources > Teachers > Authorization profiles.
  2. In the category Homework notebook, tick Create pedagogical forums.

Authorize the students to participate in forums

  1. Go to the display Resources > Students > Student folders, tab Identity.
  2. In the rubric Communication, the option Discussions and forum must be ticked.

Create a new forum

  1. Go to the display Homework notebook > Forums > Forums.
  2. Click on the button New.
  3. In the pop-up window, click on the buttons Sélection to select participants and, if applicable, other moderators.
  4. If you want the guardians and teaching assistants to be able to follow the exchange from their own Webspace, tick the corresponding box. These will not be able to publish posts.
  5. Specify the title of the forum and proceed with its description, possibly recalling the rules to be followed by the users of the forum.
  6. Assign the subject to which the forum relates in the drop-down menu.
  7. Assign a theme: the forum will be easier to find among the other pedagogical resources of the Students Webspace.
  8. Select one of the two moderation options (before or after publication). To do this, the option Only authorize forums with moderation before publication must be un-ticked in the display Resources > Teachers > Authorization profiles, category Homework notebook.
  9. If you want, you can restrict students' access to the forum by opening and closing hours.
  10. Click on Validate.

Note
To modify/delete/duplicate a forum, right-click on the forum and choose the appropriate command. In case of duplication, participants and moderators associated with the original forum are not retained.
