  • Rework the timetable on a copy of the base

At the start of the year, you initialized the PRONOTE database with the timetables created in EDT, then connected a Client EDT to the PRONOTE database: when you modify something in EDT, the modification is immediately visible in PRONOTE, and vice versa. This configuration is very practical for managing your data on a day-to-day basis. But what do you do when it comes to making in-depth changes to the timetable and verifying your modifications before sharing them?

Step 1: Create a copy of the base

  1. From a Client EDT connected to the PRONOTE base, launch the command File > Create a copy of the base.
  2. Save the *.edt file.

Step 2: Modify the timetables on the copy of the base

  1. Open the *.edt file. in EDT Single-User.
  2. Make your changes.
If you don't have EDT Single-User, you can download it from the Index Education website.
    .

Step 3: Transfer the timetables to the current year's base

  1. In EDT Single-user, launch the command from the menu To PRONOTE > Assisted transfer.
  2. In step 4 of the transfer (Analysis of the PRONOTE data) you can choose the option Only replace the timetables
or the option Choose the data to be replaced.
The option Only replace the timetables allows you to select the exact timetables to be updated in PRONOTE, but does not allow you to recover in PRONOTE any group modifications made in EDT. On the other hand, the option Choose the data to be replaced allows you to recover new resources and the assignment of students to groups in PRONOTE, but does not allow you to choose the exact timetables to be updated.
  1. Depending on the option chosen in the previous step:

    • A Client EDT opens with the window Import of the classes' timetables (option Only replace the timetables): follow the steps in the import assistant, then validate.

    • A Client PRONOTE opens with the window Recover the data from an EDT base (option Choose the data to be replaced): then make any necessary changes (updating timetables, importing new students or teachers, etc.) and click on Validate.

If you're planning a school trip and want to import modified timetables over a limited period, opt for the option Choose the data to be replaced. In the import window, go to the tab Choice of periods and select Import a new period.
