  • What's the best way to start the new academic year when timetables are subject to so much change?

Timetables are not always definitive when the base is initialized. If you wish to make in-depth changes to the timetables after the start of the academic year, make the necessary changes on a copy of the database: this will enable you to verify your modifications before sharing them, without preventing other users from working.
  1. Create a copy of the base: from a Client EDT connected to the PRONOTE base, launch the command File > Create a copy of the base. You will obtain a *.edt file.
  2. Modify the timetables on the copy of the base, by opening it with EDT Single-user.
  3. From EDT Single-user launch the command of the menu To PRONOTE > Assisted transfer.
  4. In step 4 of the transfer (Analysis of the PRONOTE data) you can choose the option Only replace the timetables or the option Choose the data to be replaced.

The option Only replace the timetables allows you to select the exact timetables to be updated in PRONOTE, but does not allow you to recover in PRONOTE any group modifications made in EDT. On the other hand, the option Choose the data to be replaced allows you to recover new resources and the assignment of students to groups in PRONOTE, but does not allow you to choose the exact timetables to be updated.
  5. Depending on the option chosen in the previous step:

    • A Client EDT opens with the window Import of the classes' timetables (option Only replace the timetables): follow the steps in the import assistant, then validate.

    • A Client PRONOTE opens with the window Recover the data from an EDT base (option Choose the data to be replaced): then make any necessary changes (updating timetables, importing new students or teachers, etc.) and click on Validate.
