How can I enhance my account security?
Account hacking refers to the takeover of an account by a malicious individual to the detriment of its legitimate owner. Here are our tips for strengthening security and preventing identity theft through the theft of usernames and passwords.
When logging into your account, in addition to your password, you can set up enhanced security. To do so:
- Go to the tab Personal information > Account.
- In the left-hand menu, click on Protecting the account.
- Depending on the solutions (or not) imposed by your institution, two enhanced security options are available:
- Mid: you can choose to receive a notification each time you connect to your account from an unregistered device. This way, you'll be notified if someone other than you logs on to your Webspace.
- Strong: for optimal security, you can add a PIN code to your password. Double authentication is an effective security measure that requires users to enter a PIN code when logging on from a new device. In practical terms, this prevents a user who has stolen your password from logging into your account from another device.
Option No. 1: Schedule the sending of a notification
This is an alternative measure which is only effective if you react immediately. If you receive a notification even though you haven't logged in from a new device, you must take immediate action (such as changing and strengthening your password and/or setting a PIN code).
Option No. 2: Choose dual authentication
In the pop-up window, use the numeric keypad to enter your PIN code (minimum 4 digits), then click on Validate. Avoid choosing a combination that could be easily guessed (current year, date of birth, famous date, etc.).

Confirm the code by entering it a second time, then click on Validate.

The PIN code is now set.

The PIN code is now set.
