What is double authentication in PRONOTE?
Following the malicious attacks on the Digital Workspaces-DW (ENT) and the recommendations of ANSSI (Agence nationale de sécurité et des systèmes d'information de l'État), Index Education has decided to generalize double authentication for all staff and teachers.
If they have not already done so, teachers and staff will need to define a PIN code of at least 4 digits when they log on to PRONOTE, which they will then have to enter each time they connect from an unregistered computer.
In practical terms, this means that someone who has stolen a teacher's or staff member's password will not be able to connect to the teacher's or staff member's account from a computer not registered by the teacher or staff member.
This security measure seems to be the most effective defence against identity theft. Strongly advocated for several years and already used by 30% of staff and teachers, it is proving indispensable in the current context.
In case of doubt, the administrator can also impose a change of passwords for all users.
Note: if you find that users are systematically asked for double authentication (and not just from a new device), you need to set the browsers on the devices concerned.
