How do I use a scale different than the general scale?
A test may be graded on a different scale than the general scale. PRONOTE can integrate these grades into the service average in two ways:
- if you tick the box Adjust the grades out of 20 when calculating the average, PRONOTE will adjust all grades to a scale of 20 before calculating the service average.
- if you do not tick Adjust the grades out of 20 when calculating the average, each test will be weighted according to its scale: thus, a test marked out of 10 will count for half as much in the average as a test marked out of 20.
Example
You have three grades: 18/20, 2/10, and 1/5.
If you tick Adjust the grades out of 20, the average will be:
18 + 4 + 4 = 8,67, resulting in a grade of 8,67/20
1 + 1 + 1
If you do not tick Adjust the grades out of 20, the average will be:
18 + 2 + 1 = 12, resulting in a grade of 12/20
1+0.5+0.25
