I'd like a test to benefit students who succeed without penalizing those who fail. How can I do this?

There is a solution: the test can be optional! In this case, the grade only counts if it increases the average. Then, when you create your test, you choose one of the two proposed methods:

or the test counts as a bonus. Only points above 10/20 are taken into account.
either the test counts as a grade and is only taken into account if it improves the student's average.
