Create a pedagogical forum
A pedagogical forum encourages students to work together and exchange ideas on topics defined by their teachers. Teachers also act as moderators.
- Go to the tab Communication > Pedagogical forums.
- Click on the button New.
- In the pop-up window, click on the buttons
to designate the participants and, if necessary, other moderators.
As the forum creator, you are necessarily the moderator, but you can appoint other users to assist you. - If you wish to allow guardians and teaching assistants to follow the exchange from their own Webspace, tick the corresponding box. They will not be able to publish posts.
Please note that in order for the forums to be visible from the Parents and Teaching Assistants Webspace, the PRONOTE database administrator must also have ticked the rubric Homework notebooks > Pedagogical forums among the authorizations. - Specify the forum title and assign the subject to which it relates in the drop-down menu.
- Allocate a theme: the forum will be easier to find among the other pedagogical resources in the Students Webspace.
- Describe the forum, including how it works and the rules of conduct to be observed by forum users.
- Select one of the two moderation options (before or after publication). To do this, the option Only authorize forums with moderation before publication must be un-ticked among the authorizations granted to teachers from Client PRONOTE.
With the option Before publication, comments that have no place in the forum will be seen only by the moderators; with After publication, students will see all comments unless the moderator intervenes.
The option Before publication is more secure and the moderator's action more discreet. However, exchanges between students will be less fluid. - If you prefer, you can restrict students' access to the forum: tick the box Student participation only, then set the forum's opening and closing times.
- Click on Validate.
