Verify the placement preferences

1. Go to the menu My preferences > Placement > Course placement.
2. Tick the wanted options:
   
   • Abort the calculations at the first failure: helps you understand and resolve the failure manually.
   • Process the stationary courses solely in the active period: the courses whose time period extends beyond the active period will not be processed.
   • Solve failures: activate this option only if you are working on a small number of courses, because it includes the solver's initial attempts and therefore slows down the calculation.
   • Do not modify the non-extracted courses: by default, PRONOTE Campus does not move any locked courses, but it can move unlocked courses that have not been extracted… unless you tick this option. 
     
     
     
     

Placement criteria

• • • Favor the free 1/2 days: this criterion plays a key role in the calculation; increase it if you want to prioritize making half-days free in teachers' timetables.
    • Penalize gaps: for PRONOTE Campus, a gap is a space between two classes in a timetable. This criterion is very important; increase it if your top priority is to avoid gaps in teachers' timetables.
    • Penalize gaps (classes): this criterion works the same way as the previous one, but since the occupancy rate for classes is higher than that for teachers, it carries less weight in the calculation.
    • Favor the free days: this criterion applies to teachers; it only makes sense if all teachers have reduced services. Increase this value if you want to prioritize making entire days free in teachers' timetables.

      • A zero means that a criterion is not taken into account.

      Advice
      We recommend keeping the default values for your first calculation. You can then run simulations by assigning greater weight to a criterion that is much more important to you. Don't change too many criteria at once; otherwise, you won't be able to tell which one influenced the results.
