Indicate teacher unavailability
Unavailability corresponds to constraints declared by a teacher, indicating the time slots during which they are unavailable. Unavailability is strictly respected during automatic placement. During manual placement, it is indicated in the diagnosis, but the user can ignore it.
- Go to the display Schedules > Teachers >
Unavailability and wishes. - Select the teacher(s) from the list on the left.
- In the menu select:
- for the active period if you wish to enter recurrent unavailability (every Wednesday during the first semester, for example); in this case, check the highlighted weeks on the bottom slider.
- week by week if you wish to enter dispersed unavailability.
- Click on the red paintbrush next to the menu (the green paintbrush is used to define the periods during which the teacher prefers to have courses).
- Click and drag on the slots where the teacher(s) are not available.
Another possibility is to "paint everything red" and then free up the few possible slots for the teacher. Then the teacher can enter them directly from his Webspace if he is authorized to do so.
Enter the unavailability by default
Default unavailability and wishes are assigned when a new teacher or class is created for all weeks (regardless of the active period). Resources that have already been created are not affected in any way.
- Go to the menu Parameters > Other data > Unavailability by default.
- Select Teachers in the drop-down menu
- Click the red paintbrush to select it.
- Click and drag on the slots where all teachers are unavailable.
