  • Import students from a spreadsheet

  1. Enter data in the format expected by EDT (one line per item of data; one column per type of information; compliance with syntax for certain types of data).
  2. In the spreadsheet, select the data to be imported and copy them using the shortcut Ctrl + C.
  3. In EDT, go to the display Timetable > Students > List, then paste the data using the shortcut Ctrl + V: an import window opens.
  4. In the drop-down menu Type of data to import, select the type of data.

  5. Match the data: select the field separator Tabulation; for each column, replace Field ignored by the appropriate field type.

    Note
    • If a column is not to be imported, leave Field ignored.
    • As long as required fields are missing, all data is displayed in red. If some data remains in red at the end of the matching process, it's because it doesn't match the expected format: move the cursor over it to find out why.
    • If you've copied column headings, tick Do not import the first [1] lines.
    • If imported columns contain several pieces of data (for example, courses containing several teachers, teachers teaching several subjects, etc.), verify the sign separating them in the field Separator of multiple resources: (by default, the comma).
  6. Click on Import. With the Network version, you switch to EXCLUSIVE USAGE mode for the duration of the import. Once you have viewed the import report, close the import window and exit the EXCLUSIVE USAGE mode.
