  How do you know what slot is available for the course?

When you manually draft a course on the grid, it switches to diagnostic mode. The diagnostic mode allows you to see which places are free for a course, and the reasons why other places are not.

You can obtain more precise information on the reasons why a course cannot be placed in a given time slot: on the course form, problematic resources are indicated in red or orange, and constraints on the time slot are indicated by symbols. Hover the cursor over it to display the caption in a tooltip.

To find out what's occupying a resource in red/orange on the course form, select it, right-click and choose View the problematic courses: the list is displayed in a new window. If the problematic course has a place elsewhere (orange resource), you can click on the button Manually place the selected course to make the necessary modifications and free up the space.
