  • Commission a second base

Putting a second base in service allows you to start working on the next year's base, while letting users work on the current base.
  1. Go to EDT Server Administration, activate the command File > Add a server, then click on Yes in the confirmation window that appears: the second server appears next to the first, on the left of the window.
  2. Select the second server, go to panel Publication parameters, then define a new UDP port and a new TCP port.

    If necessary, don't forget to open these new ports and make the appropriate redirections on your router/firewall.
  3. Create a new base and click on the button Activate.
  4. Go to your Client EDT, click on Add the address of a new server then enter the IP address and TCP port of the second server. If the database is to be accessed from other workstations, repeat the operation on the relevant Clients.

From the Client connected to the second activated database, you can recover the user rights defined for the first database. To do this, launch the command File > Utilities > Recover the users and point to the *.profiles file, located in the following directory: C:/Program Data/IndexEducation/EDT/SERVEUR/VERSION en cours/FR/Serveurs. To access the Program Data folder, make sure that the option Display hidden files, folders and drives is selected on your PC (menu Start > Control Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Folder options > Display).
