  • Organize data by family

The columns Families allow you to sort your data according to criteria not provided for in EDT. It's up to you to create them, then add them to the lists: they appear there with the designation you've allocated to them, followed by (Families).

  1. Go to the menu Parameters > General > Families.
  2. Click on New family, edit a designation, then press the key Enter on your keyboard: a window Mode appears.
  3. Choose between
    • Predefined rubrics: you'll need to define the possible values beforehand,
    • Free rubrics: any value can be entered.
  4. A window Used for appears.
  5. Tick the resource types to which this column Family applies, then click on Validate.

  6. If you have chosen Predefined rubrics: select the Family from the list on the left, on the right click on New rubric, enter a designation, then press the key Enter on your keyboard. You can add as many rubrics as you like.

  7. Then go to a list (corresponding to the elements added in step 2 in the column Used for), add the column (Families) via the button , then double-click in a box to assign it a rubric.

When displaying the columns corresponding to the families created, you can choose between the column Family, which groups together all the families created for the resource in question, and the individual columns Family's name (family) for each family created.

Families can be used as variables in document templates.
