  • The Server EDT must be installed on a new workstation. How do I do this?

To install the server on a new workstation, you must first create a backup on your current machine (machine A) and then transfer this backup to the new machine (machine B).

On the machine A

Safeguard the base

  1. Launch the application Administration Server EDT, then click on the button Shut down the activation to shut down the Server.
  2. Launch the command File > Make an archive. Select your database and the archive type Compressed (.zip), then click on the button Archive.
  3. In the window Save as, tick all compaction options (ancillary documents such as photos, standard letters, sent mail), then click on the button Save.
  4. Copy the resulting *.zip file to removable media.
  5. Launch the command Configuration > About, then take note of the letter of the workstation on which the Server EDT is installed: you will need it to register the EDT license of the Server on the new machine.

Safeguard of the Administrative mode Users (optional)

  1. Launch the command Configuration > Access the application's configuration files.
  2. Copy the *.profils  file on your removable media.

On the machine B

Installation of the application Administration Server

  1. Download and install the Server EDT application from the download page.
  2. Launch the command File > Utilities > Automatically register your license. Please have an Index Education invoice handy to enter your customer reference, invoice number and e-mail address.
  3. Tick the box of the rubric In case of equipment change, enter the letter of the old machine, then click on Validate.

Setting up the database

  1. Launch the command File > Recover an archive > compressed (*zip), then select the *.zip file on your removable media.
  2. Click on the button Activate (a password must be chosen at the time of initial commissioning).

Recovery of Administrative Mode users (optional)

  1. Login to the new server as the SPR from a Client EDT, launch the command File > User administration.
  2. Click on the button Recover the users at the bottom of the window, then select the *.profils file on your removable media.
