  • How to give access to the database in Consultation (EDT Single-user)?

The Unlimited Consultation license is sold separately, in addition to the Single-user version. With this license, you can give access to the timetables from an unlimited number of workstations. This access is read-only: no data can be modified from a workstation using the Consultation version. For security reasons, we advise you to put a backup copy of the database for consultation, and not your working file.
  1. Go to the download page of Index Education site, then download EDT Single-user on as many computers as you want. During the installation, choose the option Consultation version.

If you did not select the option Consultation version at the time of the installation, do not restart the installation from the beginning! Go to the software's home page. In the menu File > Utilities > Enter your registration code, click on the button Entry of the code, then enter the code CONSULT.
  2. Open the base on your workstation.
  3. Go to the menu Parameters > Consultation modes.
  4. In the pop-up window, select the option Personalized consultation, then activate Mode 1 and/or Mode 2; each mode is accessible with or without a password.

If you activate two modes, one of the two modes must have a password.
  5. For each mode, tick the data you want to access in the table; you can also configure the number of weeks that can be consulted before/after the current week by entering it in the corresponding boxes.

By clicking on the button Test the Consultation modes, you can simulate the opening of a database in Consultation version. To quit the simulation, click on the cross at the top right of the screen, as if you were closing the software.
  6. Click on Validate.
  7. Go to the menu File > Create a consultable copy of the base, then save the copy in a folder accessible to all the consultation workstations.
  8. Users open the Consultation version installed on their workstation; on the home page of the software, they click on the button Open an existing base, then select the copy you saved in step 6.
