My computer is equipped with Windows 7. Can I still connect to PRONOTE?
If your computer is equipped with Windows 7 or Windows 8, you can no longer connect to PRONOTE from a Client PRONOTE. Here are the solutions that may enable you to continue accessing PRONOTE without having to buy a new computer:
- connect from your Teachers Webspace: if your browser has been updated, you can still connect to PRONOTE via the Webspaces. The Teachers Webspace allows you to carry out all your day-to-day activities, and is enriched every year with new displays.
- upgrade your environment: Although Microsoft recommends buying new equipment for optimal use, it is possible to upgrade your environment. In fact, the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 10 are the same as for Windows 7.
When an operating system is no longer updated by its publisher, it becomes vulnerable, making the software installed on the workstation and the data accessed by this software vulnerable.
As the protection of our users' data is our priority*, we can no longer allow our solutions to be used on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 environments, for which Microsoft has ceased all updates (message from ANSSI on the end of Windows 7 support).
So that users can get organized, we've been communicating about this incompatibility for over a year, via our website, dynamic messages when the software is opened, and our monthly newsletter to teachers.
*Index Education, the publisher of PRONOTE, has begun the SecNumCloud certification process (issued by ANSSI) the highest level of security requirements in France.
