  • Create a test and enter the grades

To hide and streamline unused displays, if your institution does not use the grade management feature, you can deactivate it. Go to the menu Parameters > General options > Optional features, then un-tick Grade management.

Create a test

  1. Go to the menu Grades > Entry of the grades > Entry.
  2. Connect in Teacher mode, select My services, Classes or Groups in the drop-down menu.
    In Administrative mode, select Classes, Groups, Teachers or Subjects.
  3. Then select a service.

    Note
    If you can't find the corresponding service, make sure it has been created, that it is active, and that its mode is With grades. You can perform these verifications by teacher or by class from the display Resources > Teachers > Teachers' services or the display Resources > Classes > Services per class.
  4. Select a period from the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner.
  5. Click on the button Create a test.
  6. In the pop-up window, enter the test's parameters:
    • to grade students on a MCQ you've already created, click on the button Sélection in front of Associate a MCQ;
    • the date of the test;
    • the date on which the grades will be posted on the Students Webspace; this date can be changed manually.
    • if applicable, attach a topic and/or answer key, which will be posted on the Webspaces at the same time as the grades;
    • the period(s) during which the test should be included in the average; if a mock exam period has been defined (mock Baccalaureate, mock Brevet, etc.), the test may count toward both the exam and the trimester;
    • define the grading method (scale, coefficient and, if the test is optional, whether it should count as a bonus or as a grade);
    • the test category, if you want to be able to easily sort the list of tests;
    • to create a competence evaluation at the same time, tick Create an evaluation.
  7. Click on the button Create. The date and coefficient of the test (as well as the grading scale, if it differs from the default scale) are listed at the top of each column in the assignment table.

Advice
Teachers can also create a written test from the homework notebook, by right-clicking on the course where should the test take place, then choosing Plan a written test.

Enter the grades

Once the test has been created, you can enter the grades. You can also add annotations to indicate that a student was absent, exempt, did not turn in the test, etc.

  1. Go to the display Grades > Entry of the grades > Entry.
  2. When a student is absent from a course where a written test is scheduled, an absence is automatically recorded in the grade grid.

  3. Double-click the cell in the table that corresponds to the test and the student.
  4. Enter the grade and validate with the key Enter on your keyboard to automatically move to the next grade cell.
  5. Annotations allow you to handle all cases. Use the characters below to indicate other statuses:
    • To not include the test in the calculation of the average:
      • A: the student is Absent (Abs)
      • E: the student is Exempted (Exemp)
      • N: the student is Not Graded (N.Grad)
      • I: the student is Inapt (Inap)
      • S: the student did not Submit his/her test (N.Sbm)

    • To count the test as a 0 when calculating the average:
      • Z: the student has an unjustified absence (Abs*)
      • W: the student did not submit his/her work (N.Sbm*)

Note
If the grade is higher than the maximum grade specified in the test scale (for example, a grade of 21/20): enter the grade. A confirmation window will appear. Click on Yes to validate.
