How can I make a MCQ count as a bonus in the average?
In the test creation window associated with a MCQ, tick Optional test, then choose one of the two options from the drop-down menu:
AS a bonus: only points above 10 in optional tests are taken into account in calculating the service or sub-service average. For example:
Average non-optional tests: (12+16) / 2 = 14
If optional test = 17, average = (12+16+7) / 2 = 17,5
If optional test = 8, average = (12+16+0) / 2 = 14
As a grade: Optional tests are only taken into account in the service or sub-service average if they improve the student's average. So as never to disadvantage the student, optional grades are taken into account in descending order. For example:
Average non-optional tests: (16+18) / 2 = 17
Optional tests = 18 et 20
Calculate the average with the best optional test, and you obtain (16+18+20) / (2+1) = 18
Then calculate the average, taking into account the other test, and you obtain (16 +18 +20 +17)/(2+2) = 17,75
The 2nd optional test lowers the average, it is ignored.
