Give a MCQ as a competence evaluation
The way in which you present your MCQ to your students depends on what you want to achieve: detect points of the course that are not understood, provide a fun way of revising, evaluate competencies, etc. The same MCQ can be presented several times in different ways.
To give a MCQ as a competence evaluation:
- Go to the display MCQ > My MCQ >
Entry, right-click on the MCQ and choose Associate a MCQ with a new competence evaluation: a window appears.
The command is only available if you have defined the competencies evaluated for each question.
- Select the concerned service in the drop-down menu, then the period during which students can take the MCQ.
- If necessary, modify the designation of the evaluation, its date, the period for which it applies and its coefficient.
- Specify the date on which the results of the evaluation will be published on the Students Webspace - depending on the configuration made by the database supervisor, results may be published on the Parents Webspace at the same time, or at a later date.
If you want the corrected copy to be published on the same day as the evaluations, tick With the corrected copy.
- Verify the list of evaluated competencies - to modify this list, you need to return to the editing window of the corresponding question.
By default, if a competence is evaluated in several questions, PRONOTE averages the results obtained and assigns a coefficient equal to the number of occurrences. Un-tick the option Only count a single proficiency level for the competencies evaluated on several questions if you want to have as many lines as occurrences.
- Click on the button
Execution modalities for the iTest to define the execution modalities (you can authorize the return to previous questions, mix them up, make the correction more flexible, etc.).
- If you want to allocate a grade and proficiency levels at the same time, tick the box Generate a grade from the results of a MCQ.
- Click on Validate: the MCQ is announced on the homepage of the Students Webspace in the rubric Assignments in the upcoming days. The link is active only for the period you have defined.
Unlike MCQ given for revision and MCQ given as an assignment, the results of a MCQ given as a competence evaluation count towards the evaluation of the student's proficiency level.

You can also associate a MCQ with a competence evaluation in the tab Competencies > Evaluations >
Entry of the evaluations by clicking on the creation line, then selecting Create an evaluation associated with a MCQ.
