Give a MCQ as a graded test
The way in which you present your MCQ to your students depends on what you want to achieve: detect points of the course that are not understood, provide a fun way of revising, evaluate competencies, etc. The same MCQ can be presented several times in different ways.
To give a MCQ as a graded test:
- Go to the display MCQ > My MCQ >
Entry, right-click on the MCQ and choose Associate the MCQ with a new test a window appears.
- Select the concerned service from the drop-down menu, then the period during which students will be able to take the MCQ.
- Specify the date of the test (the date that will be taken into account for report cards and gradebooks).
- Specify the date on which the grade will be published on the Students Webspace - depending on the configuration made by the database supervisor, the grade may be published on the Parents Webspace at the same time, or at a later date.
If you want the corrected copy to be published on the same day as the grades, tick With the corrected copy of the iTest.
- Specify the other characteristics of the test: period taken into account, grading denominator (out of 10, out of 20, out of 100), test's coefficient, etc. You can also add a category (visible to you) and a theme (visible by the students).
- If you wish to assign both a grade and proficiency levels for this MCQ, tick box Create an evaluation then tick the competencies to be assessed in the pop-up window.
- Click on Create: the MCQ is announced on the home page of the Students Webspace under the rubric Assignments in the upcoming days. The link becomes active during the time slot you define.
Unlike MCQ given for revision purposes and MCQ given as homework, the mark for an MCQ given as a test will count towards the student's grade point average.

You can also associate a MCQ with a test from the test creation window in the tab Grades > Entry of grades >
List.
