  • Create a catch-up test

1. Create a catch-up test

Creating a catch-up test makes it possible to take into account new grades while keeping the initial grades: either the new grades replace the old ones, or PRONOTE Campus takes the average of the two.
  1. Go to the display Grading > Entry > Entry of the grades.
  2. Select the class and then the service from the lists on the left.
  3. Double-click at the top of the test, on its date.
  4. In the pop-up window, click on the button Create a catch-up.
  5. The window expands: indicate the grade below which students can take the catch-up test, the date of the catch-up and the way the grade should be taken into account. Validate.

  1. A second column appears next to the first one, where you can enter the new grades.

You can then choose Display the initial grade and catch-up grade of the test or Only display the retained grade in the gradebook, display Grading > Gradebooks > Definition of the gradebook mock-ups, tab Body of the gradebook, frame Details of the tests.

2. Create a series of tests

In order to enter grades, a test must be created beforehand. Tests are usually created by teachers at the time of grade entry, but administrative staff can anticipate this by creating all expected tests at the beginning of the year.

Step 1: Create a series of tests

  1. Go to the display Grading > Entry > Entry of the grades.
  2. Select one or more classes and one or more services from the lists on the left.
  3. Click on the button New test(s).

  1. Click on the dates of the different tests. For each date, a test per selected service will be created.
  2. The publication date is by default the beginning date of the period. If you don't modify it, the grades will be published directly after they have been entered.
  3. If the services are evaluated in different modes, indicate the mode corresponding to these tests.
  4. If necessary, modify the scale, the coefficient, the nature of the tests if optional, knowing that each teacher will be able to customize these parameters.
  5. Enter a comment for each test (visible to teachers and students once the grades are published). By clicking on the button , you can automatically allocate a numbered label to the whole series (Test 1, Test 2, etc.).
  6. The grading period is automatically allocated according to the date of the tests. Modify it if necessary.

  1. Validate: PRONOTE Campus automatically creates all the tests: to view them, select a single service.

Step 2: Customize some features on a test-by-test basis

  1. Double-click at the top of the test, on its date.
  2. In the pop-up window, you can modify all the characteristics entered during the creation.
  3. You can also:
    • attach a topic and a corrected copy,
    • associate a MCQ,
    • create a catch-up test.

3. Importing grades from a spreadsheet

The file, saved in *txt format, must contain one row per student and one column per test.
  1. Go to the display Grading > Entry of the grades > Grades.
  2. Select the class and service from the lists on the left.
  3. Click on the button at the top right of the table of grades.
  4. In the pop-up window, click on the button Browse to indicate the text file.
  5. At the top of each column, click on Ignored field and choose the field that corresponds to the imported column.
  6. Click on Import to create the tests and import grades.

4. Transfer the grades sent by the teacher

Prerequisite
To enter grades, you must first have created a test.
  1. Go to the tab Grading> Entry of the grades > Grades.
  2. Select the class and service from the lists on the left.
  3. Click in the test column in front of the concerned student, enter a grade or an annotation (see below) and validate with the key Enter.

5. Enter an annotation instead of the grade

  1. Go to the tab Grading> Entry of the grades > Grades.
    • Grade an absent student: Enter A (no grade) or Z (assignment counts as 0) instead of the grade.
    • Grade an unreturned test: enter R (no grade) or W (work counts as 0).
    • Indicate that the student is exempt for a test: enter E instead of the grade.
    • Allocate a grade beyond the scale: Enter Grade+ instead of the grade if the option is activated.
