  What are father and son courses?

If only some class meetings of a course are affected by a modification (place, memo, type, etc.), PRONOTE Campus represents the course in the form of a father course and one or more son courses:

• the father course consolidates the initial characteristics of the course on a first line;
• the son courses are class meetings with the same characteristics that are grouped together in a single line. There are therefore as many son courses as there are variations of the course. For example, if a course is held on three different time slots, there are three son courses.

Blue chain	The son courses differ only by their place. All class meetings can be held at the same location
Orange chain	The son courses differ only in characteristics that do not affect the place (memo, type, etc.). A common place can be found by selecting the father course
Red chain	The son courses differ in characteristics that prevent them from being grouped together (duration, subject, etc.). Each son course must be placed separately
	The course is associated with an oral exam
	The course is associated with an oral exam that requires special attention or when there is something to report
