  • How can I strengthen the security of my account?

Account hacking is when a malicious individual takes control of an account to the detriment of its rightful owner. Here are our tips for strengthening security and preventing identity theft, by stealing usernames and passwords.

When logging in to your account, in addition to your password, you can set up enhanced security. To do so:

  1. Go to the tab Personal information > Account.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click on Protecting the account.
  3. There are two options for enhanced security.
    • Mid: you can choose to receive a notification each time you connect to your account from an unregistered device. This way, you'll be notified if someone other than you logs on to your Webspace.
    • Strong: for optimum security, you can add a PIN code to your password. Double authentication is an effective security measure that requires users to enter a PIN code when logging on from a new device. In practical terms, this prevents a user who has stolen your password from logging into your account from another device.

Option No. 1: Program the sending of a notification

This is an alternative measure which is only effective if you react immediately. If you receive a notification even though you haven't logged in from a new device, you must take immediate action (change and strengthen your password and/or set a PIN code).

Option No. 2:  Choose dual authentication

In the pop-up window, use the numeric keypad to enter your PIN code (minimum 4 digits), then click or Validate. Avoid choosing a combination that could be easily guessed (current year, date of birth, famous date, etc.).

Confirm the code by entering it a second time, then click on Validate

PIN code set-up is complete.
