  • Customize the grading periods

Customization of grading periods is essential. Grades are entered and averages are calculated for a period (semester, trimester, exam week, etc.). Periods are grouped into grading calendars (semester, trimester, etc.), which are allocated to classes: therefore classes can be graded in different periods.

First step: customize the calendar periods

  1. Go to the tab Grading > Evaluation periods > Calendars and grading periods: By default, a trimestrial calendar and a semestrial calendar are created. You can fully customize them.

  2. To modify the designations (Semestrial, Semester 1, etc.), double-click on the designation and enter a designation that suits you.
  3. For each period (for example, Semester 1), modify the beginning and ending date: these dates can then be customized by class (see below).
  4. If necessary, you can add periods: right-click on the calendar and choose Add a period.
If you do not use a calendar, you can delete it (right-click > Delete the selection). If you need additional calendars, use the creation line Create a calendar or a period that is outside the calendar.

Second step: allocating classes to calendars

  1. Select a calendar.
  2. In the right panel, click on Add a class.
  3. In the pop-up window, tick off the classes which follow this calendar and then validate.

  4. For each class customize the beginning and ending date of each period, if necessary.
At the end of each period, the entry of grades and appraisals is sealed. If modifications are necessary, you must manually unseal the entry.

Third step: verify the publication dates

The grades are published on the Students/Parents Webspaces from the beginning of the period. If you want them to be published later, change the publication date of the Gradebook.

The report card published on the Students/Parents Webspaces at the end of the period. If you want it to be published later, change the publication date of the Report card.

If you do not wish to publish the grades on the Webspaces (regardless of the date), deactivate the rubrics Results when configuring the Students Webspace.
