Work in multi-selection
To modify various data in a single operation, you must select all the concerned data beforehand.
First possibility: select non-contiguous elements in a list
Click on the different elements while holding the key Ctrl pressed.

Second possibility: select elements that follow each other in a list
Click on the first item, then hold the key Shift pressed while clicking on the last element of the selection.

To make the elements follow each other in the list, you can sort the list on a column: for example, on the column Subject, to apply the same constraint to all courses in a subject, on the column E-mail, to print a mail to all users who do not have an e-mail address, etc.
Third possibility: select all the elements of a list
Use the shortcut Ctrl + A.
