Configure the automatic safeguard and archiving
Automatic safeguard and archiving is enabled by default:
- a backup is made every hour, 24 backups are retained;
- an archive is made every day, 15 archives are retained.
All automatically created safeguards and archives are encrypted in order to protect sensitive data, they can only be used by HYPERPLANNING.
It is not advisable to deactivate the automatic safeguards and archiving, but you can modify some parameters.

- From the Servers
, in the pane corresponding to the schedule, go to the panel Safeguards and archives. - For the safeguard: choose the recording frequency in the drop-down menu and click on the button
to select the folder in which the files will be saved. If possible, choose a different physical workstation than the one where the database is saved. The safeguards of the day overwrite those of the day before. - For archiving, if necessary, modify:
- the archiving time,
- the number of archives kept: if you keep 15 archives, the 16th will overwrite the 1st,
- the related files to be archived,
- the folder in which the archives are stored.
