The workstation on which the Controller is installed will be replaced. How do I proceed?
It is possible that during the year you may need to change the workstation on which the Control is installed. Here is what to do.
First step: On the machine in use
- Make a backup of the user profiles. To do this, from the application Administration of the Controller
, launch the command Configuration > Access the application's configuration files, then copy the file *.profils on your removable media or from a Client
, launch the command Imports/Exports > USERS > Export the users and their authorizations (*.profils).
- From the application Administration of the Controller
, launch the command Configuration > About and copy the letter of the workstation: you will need it to register the license on the new machine.
Second step: On the new machine
- Download and install the Controller
.
- Proceed with the online registration of your license (Internet connection required): launch the command File > Utilities > Automatically register your license.
- Keep an Index Education invoice handy to enter your customer reference and an invoice number.
- Also enter your e-mail address. Indicate that you have changed hardware and enter the letter of the old machine.
- Recover the users from the panel Network users (the Controller
must be shut down): in the tab List of users, click on the button
on the bottom of the screen and select *.profils on your removable media.
