  • How can I increase security and prevent HYPERPLANNING accounts from being hacked?

Account piracy refers to a malicious individual taking control of an account to the detriment of its rightful owner. All HYPERPLANNING cases involve identity theft, through the theft of usernames and passwords.

If users connect directly to HYPERPLANNING (and not via an DW (ENT)), here are our tips for strengthening security and preventing identity theft.

Recommendation No. 1: Follow CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) recommendations for passwords

Currently, the CNIL imposes on users a minimum size of 10 characters and 3 complexity criteria:

  • At least one special character,
  • At least one letter,
  • Mixture of upper and lower case letters.

Verify the rules defined in HYPERPLANNING  by going to the menu Parameters > General Parameters > Security.

Caution, rule changes apply only to future personalizations. To ensure that all passwords used quickly comply with the new rules, it is necessary to force passwords to be changed.

Recommendation No. 2: Encourage the use of dual authentication

Double authentication is an effective security measure that requires teachers and staff to enter a 4-digit PIN code when logging on from a new device.
In practical terms, this prevents a student who has stolen a teacher's password from logging on from home.

You can propose or impose this double authentication in the menu Parameters > General Parameters > Security.

Recommendation No. 3: Make sure there is one user = one account = one password

To find out who has performed a malicious action, make sure that each user has his/her own account.
